Nestes instantes flutuantes, o bruto e a passagem do tempo tomam forma.

Sede means thirst in portuguese. The collection of photographs in this series refers to an unconscious metaphor, to a latent and dreamlike image, to the tradition of image itself.
Like a mental reproduction of a scene without a plot, which have a strange subtle familiarity. These images already belong to the collective imaginary, a collateral effect of decades of unsustainable exploitation of the image; Fruitful and swiftly, the language of our times.
These are instants in constant distension and distancing, floating in the space of the frame and beyond, that cannot be fixed.

In terms of cognition, there are no major differences between a photograph and a real experience, both of them are understood as simple objects. This phenomenon of unclear distinction conditions the image to inhabit a non-place, in between fiction and reality.
Like an old skin, the procedures to which these photographs were subjected, scarred the image. They denounce and carry within themselves the signs of their own process of revelation.

Playing and manipulating with the plasticity of photography itself, I believe that in the artistic making, one must dissect and imbibe oneself in the very medium in which the work is cut out from; and one should enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Anyhow, photography to me, serves as the end and the means of creation.
To that effect, in this series, I serve myself of already printed photographs, founded in books and magazines and I re-photograph them so I can me appropriate for them.

The impressions that are obtained from the interaction between the light that ricochet the surface of the paper and the texture of the matter, are important elements of the composition of the photographs. The very origin of these images is set on the scene.

At first, the images are captured on film and afterwards, they are digitally manipulated; All imperfections and vestiges of this disastrous transition are here stated and recognizable. In these fleeting instants, the raw and the passage of time takes shape. A presentiment of a pulse of life and death, evidences of a narration without history.
